Our Expertise

Shopping Campaigns Live or Die on the Feed

Most agencies treat Google Shopping like search advertising with pictures. It isn't. You can't bid on keywords, you can't write the ad, and Google decides where your products show based almost entirely on the data in your feed. Get the feed right and campaigns become straightforward. Get it wrong and no amount of bid management rescues it. We spend our time where it actually pays, which is in Merchant Centre and the product data behind it.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose
Brink?

We Fix the Feed First

Product titles that match how people search, correct GTINs and brand fields, images that meet Google's rules, and the attributes that decide which searches you appear for. It's unglamorous work and it's the single biggest lever in Shopping. Agencies that skip it end up blaming the platform.

Measured on Return, Not Clicks

Retail has a number that matters and it's return on ad spend. We tie campaigns back to actual revenue rather than reporting traffic and conversion counts that look fine while the account loses money. If a product range can't be sold profitably at current margins, we'd rather tell you than quietly keep spending.

Structure Built Around Margin

Not every product deserves the same budget. We split campaigns so your best margin lines get priority, slow sellers don't drain spend, and seasonal ranges scale up and down when they should. One catch-all campaign hands those decisions to Google, and Google optimises for its revenue, not your profit.

What's Included

Key features and benefits of our google shopping service.

Merchant Centre Setup

Account creation, website verification, shipping and tax configuration, and clearing the disapprovals that stop products showing at all.

Product Feed Optimisation

Titles, descriptions, categories, GTINs and custom labels rebuilt so Google understands the catalogue and matches it to the right searches.

Performance Max for Retail

Google's automated retail campaign type, set up with proper asset groups and exclusions rather than left to run on defaults with your whole budget.

Dynamic Remarketing

Ads showing the exact products someone viewed and didn't buy. For most stores this is the cheapest revenue in the account.

Our Process

A proven workflow that delivers predictable results.

01

Merchant Centre Audit

We go through the account for disapprovals, warnings and missing attributes. Most stores we look at have products silently excluded from Shopping without anyone realising, sometimes a large share of the catalogue.

02

Feed Optimisation

Titles rewritten around search behaviour, categories mapped properly, missing fields filled, images checked. If your platform can't output what Google needs, we set up a feed tool to fix it between the store and Merchant Centre.

03

Tracking & Revenue Data

Conversion tracking with actual transaction values, not a flat number per sale. Without revenue data the bidding has nothing useful to optimise towards and the reporting can't tell you what's profitable.

04

Campaign Build

Campaigns split by margin, brand or product range depending on what fits your catalogue. Priority settings and negatives configured so the right products get shown for the right searches.

05

Optimise & Report

Ongoing work on search terms, bids, feed quality and product level performance. Monthly reporting covers spend, revenue, return on ad spend and what we're changing next.

Google Shopping & Ecommerce PPC

We manage Google Shopping and ecommerce PPC for retailers in Lincolnshire and across the UK. Some clients come to us with a store that sells well organically and no paid presence at all. Others arrive with a Performance Max campaign quietly burning money against products they can’t sell profitably. Either way the first job is the same: work out what the catalogue can actually support.

Why the Feed Decides Everything

Google builds your Shopping listing from your product data. The title is the biggest single factor in which searches you show for, and most store platforms export titles written for humans browsing a category page rather than someone typing into Google. “Blue Cotton Shirt” and “Mens Blue Cotton Oxford Shirt Long Sleeve” perform very differently, and only one of them was written with search in mind.

Then there’s everything that stops products appearing at all. Missing GTINs, price mismatches between feed and site, images with promotional text burned into them, no returns policy on the site. We regularly open a Merchant Centre account and find a meaningful chunk of the catalogue disapproved, with nobody aware of it.

Shopping and Search Work Differently

Search ads catch someone describing a problem. Shopping catches someone who already knows what they want and is comparing options on price and appearance. That changes what a good campaign looks like. For most retailers both belong in the account, with Shopping taking the product searches and search campaigns taking the broader research queries and brand terms.

Performance Max, Honestly

Performance Max is Google’s automated retail campaign and it does often produce results. It also takes away control, blends channels together in the reporting, and will happily spend on your worst margin products if that’s what generates the most revenue on paper. We use it, but we set it up with proper asset groups and exclusions, and we usually keep standard Shopping running so there’s a clear view of what’s really driving sales.

If the Store Is the Problem

Sometimes the ads aren’t the issue. If the product pages load slowly, the checkout drops people, or the site doesn’t work properly on a phone, paid traffic just makes an existing problem more expensive. We build ecommerce sites in-house, so we can tell you honestly whether the money is better spent on the store than on the ad account. Sometimes it is.

What We Won’t Do

We won’t push budget at a catalogue whose margins can’t carry it. We won’t hand everything to Performance Max and call it a strategy. We won’t report a healthy return on ad spend while ignoring that it’s coming almost entirely from people searching your brand name, who were going to buy anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our google shopping services.

How is Google Shopping different from normal Google Ads?
With search ads you pick keywords and write the ad. With Shopping you do neither. Google reads your product feed and decides which searches your products appear for, then builds the listing from your title, image and price. That's why feed quality matters so much. The optimisation work happens in your product data rather than in a keyword list.
Do I need a certain size of catalogue?
No. We've seen small catalogues do well because the feed is clean and the products are specific. Large catalogues have more room for waste, which is where campaign structure earns its keep. What matters more than size is whether your margins can absorb the cost per click in your category.
Why are some of my products not showing?
Usually disapprovals or missing required fields. Common causes are a price mismatch between the feed and the website, missing GTINs, prohibited wording in titles, or no returns and shipping policy on the site. Merchant Centre reports all of it but the warnings are easy to miss. It's the first thing we check.
Should I run Shopping or Performance Max?
Performance Max usually delivers more volume, but it takes control away and hides a lot of the reporting. We normally run standard Shopping alongside it, at least at first, so there's a clear picture of what's working before handing more budget to automation. Anyone who tells you Performance Max is always the answer hasn't run it on a tight margin.
What return on ad spend should I expect?
It depends entirely on your margins. A store with 70% margins can be profitable at 3x. A store with 20% margins needs closer to 8x to make sense. We work out your break even figure before launching so we're both aiming at a number that means something, rather than a generic target lifted from a case study.
Can you work with my platform?
Yes. Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce and custom builds. If the platform can't produce a good feed on its own we put a feed management tool in between. We also build ecommerce sites ourselves, so if the store is the problem rather than the ads, we'll say so.
Do you handle the ads if I already have someone building the site?
Yes, that's common. We'll need access to Merchant Centre, the ad account and analytics, and we'll usually have a few requests for whoever manages the site, mostly around product data and tracking. We're used to working alongside other suppliers.

Not selling on Google Shopping yet?

We'll look at your catalogue and margins and tell you whether Shopping stacks up for what you sell, and roughly what it would cost to find out properly. Honest answer either way.
