James Street Vets Website
The challenge
James Street Veterinary Centre is an independent practice based in Louth, Lincolnshire. They’ve been caring for local pets for over a hundred years, and in recent years have grown quickly, expanding to a second site in Wragby and investing in specialist services like laparoscopic surgery and exotic animal care.
Their website hadn’t kept pace with any of that. It was outdated, difficult to navigate, and didn’t reflect who they’d become as a practice. The design was stuck in the past, the branding was inconsistent, and there was no connection to the systems their team relied on every day. Clients couldn’t book appointments online, and the site gave no sense of the modern, high-quality care the practice actually provides.
They needed something that matched the standard they hold themselves to.
Our approach
We started by spending time with the James Street team to understand their brand properly. They’re independent, they’re proud of their history, and they genuinely care about the animals they treat. But they’re also forward-thinking, offering services you wouldn’t expect from a small-town practice: laparoscopic surgery, exotic animal consultations, a pet health plan, and round-the-clock digital vet support through their VidiVet partnership.
All of that needed to come through in the website. We developed a brand identity built around their colours, a deep navy paired with a vibrant teal, and used bold typography and high-quality photography to give the site energy and personality. The hero section features real imagery rather than stock photos, and the whole layout is clean and modern without feeling clinical.
We structured the site around the things clients actually want to do: book an appointment, register a pet, find their nearest location, or check what services are available. As a website design project in Lincolnshire, we kept the navigation simple with clear pathways for each of those tasks, so the site works for the local community the practice serves.
On the technical side, we handled the system integration with their online booking platform so clients can schedule appointments directly from the website instead of phoning during opening hours. We also built in a section for VidiVet, their virtual vet partner, which gives clients access to 24/7 digital vet support via video, text, or the app. Both of these integrations were important to the practice because they reduce pressure on reception staff and give clients more flexibility.

The results
The new site gives James Street Vets an online presence that finally matches the quality of care they provide in person. Clients can book appointments without picking up the phone, get instant advice through VidiVet at any time of day, and browse the full range of services the practice offers across both locations.
The booking integration alone has made a noticeable difference to the team’s day-to-day workload, freeing up reception staff to focus on the clients and animals in front of them rather than answering routine calls.
“We’d outgrown our old website years ago, but never found the right people to sort it out. The team took the time to understand what we’re about and built something we’re genuinely proud of. Our clients love being able to book online, and the VidiVet integration has been brilliant for giving people peace of mind outside of surgery hours.”
